Jordan Retro Shoes - Change The Trend

Jordan Retro Shoe

The Air Jordan brand of shoes first entered the basketball arena when Michael Jordan, the legendary basketball great, was starting to make his record setting spree. The basketball sneakers were named after him and went along with him on his successful runs, including the time when he won his first championship, and the time when he won the gold medal in the 1992 Olympics as a part of the Dream Team. The original Jordans, by themselves popular, became even popular as collectors' pieces and souvenirs when they were retroed, following their successful runs. Let us now look at the salient aspects of a few of these Jordan retro shoes.

Nike Air Jordan I Retro:

Jordan Retro Shoe

The Nike Air Jordan I was the first Air Jordan shoe. It was manufactured by Peter Moore in 1985. It was incidentally, an unsuccessful model, which was shunned even by Michael Jordan himself, who alluded to the sneakers' red and black color combination as being the devil's shoes. But when they were retroed in 2001, with the color changed to a more acceptable state, they sold out well in the market. The colors available in the retroed version of the Air Jordan I are white, black and varsity red. These models feature patent leather uppers that give them a classic appearance combined with good styling.

Nike Air Jordan II Retro:

The Air Jordan II originally released in 1986, were a failure too, thanks to the accident Michael Jordan had when he sported them in a match. Jordan accidentally fractured his ankle during the match and the public blamed the faulty design of the Jordan II sneakers as being the cause for the injury. The shoes got a lot of negative publicity, so the brand was stopped. Later, in 2004, when they were retroed, they sold out well to give Nike a reasonable profit on the sales of the shoes. The retroed Air Jordan II comes in two colors, black and chrome. Another feature of the retroed Jordans is that the Nike symbol, the 'swoosh' is missing on the shoes.

Nike Air Jordan III Retro:

The Air Jordan III was released in 1988, the design made by Tinker Hatfield, at a time when Nike was in a fix. Rumors had it that Michael Jordan was planning to shift his contract from Nike to some other company. It was then that Nike came up with this model that persuaded Jordan to stay on, and till this date, the Air Jordan III is considered Jordan's personal favorite model. The retroed version of the successful model, which was released in 2001, retained the glory of its predecessor by standing up to the expectations. It had a full grain leather upper with an elephant skin design on the toe and heel. With solid rubber outsole and polyurethane midsole with visible air in the heel, it is a must for any collector interested in an Air Jordan collection. The retroes come in white and dark mocha colors.
